Terms of Dorset
Welcome to Dorset Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhiredorset.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services you confirm your acceptance of these Terms.
1. Dorset Rental Agreement
All vehicle rentals arranged through Dorset are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This agreement sets out specific terms, conditions, insurance details, fees, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will govern.
2. Dorset Eligibility
To rent a vehicle from Dorset, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old (age limits may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, held for the minimum period stated in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification, proof of address and a payment card in the driver’s name for Dorset rentals.
3. Booking and Payment in Dorset
- Bookings can be made via our website, by telephone, or in person at our Dorset branch. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and the security deposit are normally payable when the vehicle is collected. All prices are shown in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.
4. Vehicle Collection and Return — Dorset
- You must inspect the vehicle at collection and report any pre-existing damage to Dorset immediately. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be assessed and charged to the hirer in line with Dorset’s damage policy.
5. Insurance and Liability — Dorset
- Third-party liability cover is included with all Dorset rentals. Complete policy details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Optional insurance products may be available to lower your financial exposure. Review these options before you sign the Rental Agreement. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess stated in the Rental Agreement.
6. Cancellation and Changes — Dorset
Dorset's cancellation and amendment rules differ by booking type and notice period. Check your booking confirmation or rental agreement for the applicable terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
7. Dorset Restrictions
You must not use the rented vehicle in Dorset for:
- Use of Dorset vehicles for any unlawful purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other high-risk activities. Transporting hazardous, toxic, or other dangerous materials. Sub-letting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Use for purposes for which the vehicle was not designed...
Violating Dorset’s rules may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.
8. Dorset Liability Limits
To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Dorset Vehicle Hire Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the total fees paid by you to Dorset Vehicle Hire Services for the relevant services in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Dorset Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Dorset.
10. Changes to Dorset Terms
Dorset may modify these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect immediately when posted on our website. Your continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
